Location: Golborne, Warrington
Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September 2025
Daily Rate: £105 – £140 (Paid weekly via PAYE)
A supportive and welcoming primary school in Golborne, Warrington is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
The school is looking for a confident and flexible HLTA who can lead whole-class learning, deliver targeted interventions, and provide effective PPA cover across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher.

Support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, particularly those with SEND.

Plan and deliver targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and wider staff team to meet pupil needs.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback to class teachers.
Essential Criteria:
-
HLTA qualification or significant experience delivering whole-class sessions.
-
Proven experience working with children with SEND in a primary setting.

Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills.
-
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
-
Calm, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning.
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Desirable:
-
Experience delivering interventions for pupils with speech, language, and communication needs, ASD, or SEMH.

Good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and inclusive classroom strategies.
