Psychology Graduate – Teaching Assistant support role
Location: Wigan
Salary: Up to £100 per day / Full-Time or Part-Time role depending on your availability
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain school-based experience working with children? Do you have a genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs and exploring a career in education, psychology, or mental health?
A welcoming primary school in Wigan is seeking a compassionate and motivated graduate to join their team as a Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to build experience working with children who may have SEND needs such as autism, ADHD, or social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
Whether you’re aiming to become an educational psychologist, teacher, or therapist, this role offers valuable insight into how schools support children's development and wellbeing.
The Role:
- Support individual pupils or small groups, particularly those with additional learning or behavioural needs.
- Work closely with teaching staff to implement support strategies.
- Help create an inclusive, encouraging learning environment.
- Support children’s emotional regulation and social development.

You’ll Need:
- A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject).
- DBS on the update service (Or willingness to obtain one).
- A calm, patient and understanding approach.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Any experience with children or young people is a bonus, though not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
