Primary Teaching Assistant – Wigan
We are looking for a caring and committed Primary Teaching Assistant to support children’s learning and development at a welcoming primary school in Wigan. This role is set to begin at the start of the new academic year, in September 2025.
Position: Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Wigan
Pay Rate: £90 per day
Your role will involve:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Encouraging children’s participation and helping to build their confidence.
- Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
- Working one-to-one or with small groups to support learning and behaviour.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working with young children and nurturing their progress.
- Has an Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Brings patience, energy, and a positive attitude to the classroom.
- Ideally has some experience in a primary or childcare setting (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
