Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Start Date: September Pay Rate: £105 - £140 per day

Location: Ashton-In-Makerfield, Wigan (WN4)
Contract: Full-time, Temporary with potential for permanent role

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school located just off the A58 in Ashton-In-Makerfield. The school is currently seeking a dedicated Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to begin immediately, with the possibility of securing a permanent position from September.

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, working closely with the class teacher to deliver personalised educational plans for children requiring additional support. You will be expected to take on higher-level responsibilities including delivering PPA cover, leading small group tuition, and providing targeted 1:1 interventions.

Key Requirements:

• HLTA qualification or evidence of meeting the HLTA standards.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Ability to lead class sessions during teacher absences.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, proactive approach to learning support.
• Experience working across primary key stages and supporting children with varying needs.
