Job description

Are you an experienced HLTA who is looking for a new challenge in an alternative provision centre?

A centre based in the Runcorn area are looking for the right candidate to help assist students who have struggled in mainstream school, some students have been permanently excluded.

Staff are passionate about contributing to the life outcomes of the students they support. Education is at the core of their approach. The school caters for key stage 3 and 4 pupils and staff help to try and re-engage students by creating a happy and healthy environment for them.

The centre provides opportunities for students to learn hair and beauty, mechanics, and carpentry. They are looking for a full-time teaching assistant who can support the teacher in small classes and help to guide the students.

  • Specialist provision- Runcorn
  • Hours/Days: Monday-Friday, 8.00am-3.00pm (Term-Time only)
  • Competitive rate
  • Start date- As soon as possible.

The school received a GOOD Ofsted report which stated “Pupils’ behaviour in and around school is good, they engage well in lessons. Their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is good because they are knowledgeable about other cultures and beliefs. They are respectful to staff and visitors to the school”.

The ideal HLTA would be somebody who is able to work with and support students who need extra support to achieve their goals. You will have a passion for working with children who have special educational needs to keep them engaged and driven. It is essential you have experience dealing with challenging behaviour and can sensitively handle challenges that may arise whilst supporting students who have social, emotional and mental health struggles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
