Higher Level Teaching Assistant – SEMH & ASC Support
Devizes | 8.30am – 3pm | September 2025 Start
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and autism spectrum conditions (ASC)?
We're seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist school community supporting students aged 7 to 16 with behavioural barriers to learning.
This is a full-time opportunity starting September 2025, with the potential for an earlier start date for the right candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering targeted interventions and supporting lessons under teacher guidance

Managing behaviour positively and calmly using therapeutic strategies

Supporting students with EHCPs and personalised learning plans
-
Providing small-group or 1:1 support for students with ASC and SEMH needs

Assisting with classroom planning and HLTA-level cover where required
What We’re Looking For
-
Previous experience in an SEN, PRU, or SEMH setting is desirable
-
HLTA status or equivalent experience
-
Confident managing behaviour using positive interventions
-
Strong communication, resilience, and empathy

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
