Contract: Full-Time
Pay Rate: £100 per day
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive and welcoming secondary school. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA, or an existing HLTA seeking a new challenge.
About the Role:
As a HLTA, you will play an essential role in supporting teaching, learning, and student progress across Key Stages 3 and 4, including leading whole‑class learning when required. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Supporting pupils’ learning across a range of subjects.
- Leading small‑group interventions to boost progress.
- Assisting with planning, preparation, and assessment where appropriate.
- Providing targeted support to SEND students and those who need additional guidance.
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, well‑managed learning environment.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and pastoral teams.
- Contributing to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities.

What We’re Looking For
- HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working across KS3 and KS4.
- Confidence in leading whole‑class learning.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and behaviour expectations.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
