About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and leading learning activities.
You’ll assist in planning and delivering lessons, provide targeted support to pupils, and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Your contribution will be key in encouraging confidence, independence, and progress.
You will work closely with teachers to implement structured learning plans and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
This includes supporting pupils in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop essential skills. You’ll also assist with classroom organisation, behaviour management, and lesson preparation, ensuring every child feels safe and supported.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- A minimum of six months of childcare experience, ideally supporting children with additional needs
- A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to working with young learners
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
Experience in SEN support is highly desirable, as you’ll be working with pupils who require additional guidance and encouragement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
