SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Bournemouth | Immediate Start

Inspire, Support and Empower Young Minds
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive specialist school in Bournemouth.

This rewarding role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children aged 5 to 12 who experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, helping them to develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning.

 

About the Role
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 3.30pm, with an immediate start available.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide both academic and emotional support to pupils who require additional guidance.

You will help students to manage their emotions, engage positively in their learning and achieve their full potential through patience, encouragement and consistency.

Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience, ideally supporting children with SEN or SEMH needs
• A calm, empathetic and positive approach to behaviour management
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine commitment to helping young learners succeed both academically and personally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
