Head of Year (non teaching)

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and dedicated Head of Year (Non-Teaching) to join our pastoral team from September 2025. Based in Rochdale, this role is vital in ensuring the wellbeing, behaviour, and academic progress of a specific year group across the school.
As a Head of Year, you will:

Provide day-to-day pastoral care, guidance, and support to students in your year group
-
Work closely with teaching staff, senior leaders, and parents to ensure excellent attendance, behaviour, and academic engagement
-
Lead on interventions, welfare plans, and monitoring of students’ progress
-
Be a visible, supportive presence across the school, building strong relationships with students and families
-
Champion a culture of high expectations and positive behaviour
This is a non-teaching role, ideal for candidates with experience in youth work, mentoring, education, or pastoral care.

Has experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or pastoral setting

Understands the importance of safeguarding and inclusion

Can manage sensitive issues with professionalism and care

Has excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
