About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Year to join our dedicated pastoral and academic team at one of our partnered schools in Birmingham. The successful candidate will play a vital role in leading and supporting a year group, ensuring the highest standards of student progress, behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing.
As Head of Year, you will work closely with teaching and support staff to monitor student achievement, implement intervention strategies, and foster a positive and inclusive school culture where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide effective pastoral leadership for a designated year group.

Monitor academic progress, attendance, and behaviour data to support student success.

Lead assemblies, parent meetings, and student interventions.

Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure consistent support for students.

Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold its values and ethos.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience as a Head of Year, Assistant Head of Year, or in a similar pastoral leadership role.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desired.

Proven ability to motivate and inspire students.

Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
