Location: Braintree, Essex
Salary: Competitive (TLR available, dependent on experience) + Teachers’ Pension Scheme

Our client, a vibrant and inclusive mixed secondary school for students aged 11–18 in Braintree, Essex, is seeking an experienced and committed Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead their dedicated department from September 2025. About the Role:
As Head of MFL, you will lead the department in delivering high-quality French and/or Spanish lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially KS5. You will be responsible for curriculum planning, staff development, quality assurance, and raising pupil attainment in languages.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and inspiring teacher with strong subject knowledge and leadership potential to shape the strategic direction of the department and embed a culture of linguistic excellence.

What They're Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher of MFL (French and/or Spanish), with QTS

  • Proven experience of delivering outstanding MFL teaching and learning

  • The ability to mentor and motivate staff, as well as inspire students
