If so, a Cover Supervisor/teaching assistant is the role for you!
It can be a rewarding job and a useful way of getting experience in the classroom for those with teaching ambitions.
The main job of a teaching assistant is to provide support on a 1:1 basis or small group. The pupils you will be working with are looking for a role model and someone they can trust. You must be able to communicate in welsh!
The cover supervisor's main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set.
Cover supervisors DO:
* Teach grammar
* Manage behaviour
* Discuss and debating texts with pupils and answering questions
Cover supervisors DON'T:
* Don't plan
* Don't need the subject knowledge - Beneficial
* Don't mark work
* Don't set homework
* Don't differentiate
* Don't set targets
This role can fit perfectly around other commitments. The hours will be normal school hours 9am - 3pm.
