  • Do you hold QTS? Are you looking for a new challenge?
  • Are you competent in the delivery of high quality Art lessons?
  • Do you have a genuine passion for teaching, and for aiding the development of young people?

A secondary school in Trafford is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Art teacher to join the team on a temporary basis.  It is vital that the given applicant can effectively deliver Art lessons across a wide range of ages. As a member of the department, it is important that the required candidate can work within a team of other teachers. It is also important that the applicant is competent in the management of behaviour expectations, in line with school policy. The individual will have prior secondary school experience, and will be able to confidently teach large groups of children. Additionally, being able to work with students on an individual basis is imperative.

Acknowledging the need for differentiation of learning for those with SEN is a key part of the job, as well as ensuring both the content of lessons and material is suitable for those whose primary language may not necessarily be English. Being receptive to pupils’ needs, and being able to confidently offer guidance and support when necessary is also exceptionally important. Due to the nature of the subject, the applicant will be able to proficiently encourage students to take pride in the production of unique pieces of work.

The role will run for the Summer term, beginning after the Easter break, through until the end of the academic year

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Efficiently delivering the school’s curriculum, as well as managing behaviour to ensure lessons run smoothly.
  • Working in line with recommendations made by Ofsted, to ensure that improvements are being made on a consistent basis.
  • Working with a broad range of students, across a variety of ethnic backgrounds, ages and abilities.
  • Pay - GBP24,473 and GBP41,490 based on prior experience.

The school is located in Trafford, just outside of Manchester city centre. With several motorway links in close proximity, there also numerous public transport links which allow for easy access in getting to the school itself. For further information regarding this role, please contact the Manchester East Secondary branch at Teaching Personnel.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
