Future Teachers Programme

Are you a Graduate interested in a career in Education?

Do you want to get PAID whilst training in a supportive School?

Are you from the Bournemouth, Salisbury or Southampton area?

What is the Future Teachers Programme?

The Future Teachers Programme is designed to support graduates who are considering a career in teaching but want to gain some first hand, practical experience as a graduate teaching assistant, prior to enrolling on to a teacher training course with our training school. As well as helping graduates get into teaching, the programme seeks to help the current shortage of teachers, especially in the core subjects of English, Maths, Science, History, Geography and MFL.

What's involved in the Future Teachers Programme?

Firstly, successful applicants will join one of our dedicated and reputable secondary schools across Bournemouth as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for 12 months. This will allow graduates, like yourself, to gain a variety of teaching experience which is paid! You will earn up to £1200 per month for the first year as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

Upon successful completion of your 12 months as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to enrol on to your teacher training, starting September 2020, at the same Bournemouth based secondary school.

Graduate Teaching Assistant Role and Responsibilities

You will join the secondary schools department for your subject specialism and hold small intervention sessions to support pupils in small groups and on 1:1 to help raise confidence and attainment in the subject over the year. The role of Graduate Teaching Assistant is one that is very rewarding as you will see pupils progress in their studies from the additional support you are providing.

As well as leading your own intervention sessions, you will assist class teachers with lesson planning and preparation and even have the opportunity to plan and deliver your own lessons once you feel confident enough!

If you are due to graduate this summer with a degree and are looking for a progressive route into teaching, our Future Teachers Programme could be the opportunity for you! To apply, please submit a CV via the link below and one of our consultants will be in touch!
