Graduate teaching assistant – Northern Hampshire (Andover, Basingstoke, Fleet and Farnborough and surrounding areas)

Teaching Personnel have a number of graduate teaching assistant vacancies in both Primary and Secondary Schools throughout North Hampshire (Andover, Basingstoke, Fleet and Farnborough). Our Future Teachers programme is the perfect opportunity for you to work as a Teaching Assistant this academic year, and then progress on to teacher training in September 2020. In this opportunity you will gain paid experience working in your chosen School setting, and you will undertake regular training ready for a PGCE/SCITT course next year.
This work will be paid at between GBP65 and GBP90 per day dependant on abilities and exact position undertaken.
Individuals interested in working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant as part of our Future Teachers Programme, will need to be/have;
- A degree and A-levels within your subject area
- The desire to become a qualified teacher in the future
- Commitment to working full time as a Teaching Assistant for the rest of the academic year
- Knowledge of the education system
- Previous experience working with children in a School or similar capacity
- Desire to, or experience of working with Students from a variety of backgrounds with a variety of Special Educational Needs
Working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant is excellent, PAID experience for those wanting to become teachers. Teaching Personnel work with schools across North Hampshire and have a number of vacancies in Secondary, Primary and SEN Schools. Ideally, you will be looking for work for the full academic year, however if you have other commitments and want to gain experience on a supply basis we welcome your application. Working as a Teaching Assistant will require you to take direction from Teachers and other Staff members, provide in class support during lessons, lead activities for small groups and also support children on an individual 1:1 basis. You may also (in time) be asked to lead lessons in the absence of teaching Staff. Graduates will be given full support to prepare for teacher training, Teaching Personnel have a partnership with a national teaching school in Basingstoke who will hold several courses throughout the academic year, including; effective behaviour management, preparation for teaching, assessment for learning and differentiation.
