Are you a graduate looking for a teaching assistant role within a secondary school in the central Manchester area?

Working in partnership with a national teaching school in Greater Manchester, Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant who is considering a future career as a teacher. If you are interested in pursuing a role in the education sector, this is the ideal role for you as a graduate to gain relevant experience in advance of taking on a teacher training programme direct with the national teaching school.

Through Teaching Personnel’s ‘Graduate Teacher Internship’, graduates who are confident and adaptable are encouraged to apply now. As a successful, confident and motivated graduate, you would gain the opportunity to take on a year’s program as a graduate teaching assistant to support within a partner secondary school. The successful graduates will gain relevant school-based experience and a wide range of skills on how to perform administrative tasks, work with students in small groups and cover lessons.

Highlights of the future teacher’s programme:

  • Full time graduate teaching assistant opportunity
  • Earn up to GBP1450 per month (equivalent of GBP10 per hour) whilst gaining vital experience prior to taking on a teaching training programme
  • Opportunities for Maths, English, Science and Computing/Religious Education graduates aspiring to become a teacher in the future
  • Graduates of any specialism are encouraged to apply for more information on potential positions
  • 12 month programme and graduate scheme as a teaching assistant with the chance to secure a position on a teacher training programme

The successful individual is ideally required on a full time basis where they would undertake a variety of tasks and activities. These will give the graduate a good understanding into the role of a teacher and stand any graduate in great stead to take on a teaching position in the future. You will have the chance to develop your own subject knowledge whilst supporting and assisting students in these areas and subjects. You will gain experience in working with students with special educational needs, covering lessons in the absence of the teacher as well as get a feel for how to plan lessons and create resources accordingly.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
