Graduate Teaching Assistant – Future Teachers

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant to start working with us in one of our client schools. The role will start after Easter and will run full-time until December 2024 (8:30am – 3:00pm).

This opportunity is for applicants who are looking to start a career in Teaching, with a passion for the subject that they have studied at university, who would like to gain experience in a school environment and prior to taking on teacher training.

The school is located in South Manchester, in Wythenshawe, which is a 5-minute walk from the nearest tram stop, in and out of Manchester City Centre. The successful applicant can expect to earn up to £100 per day (depending on experience).

-          Gaining experience working with KS3 and KS4 students.

The role itself will involve supporting teachers in specific departments relevant to their degree. Ideally the successful candidate will be confident with their academic ability and be outgoing/able to connect with students from a variety of different backgrounds. It is important that applicants also have patience and a great subject knowledge and can be flexible to work with pupils with different learning styles.

Additional responsibilities:

-          Uphold school standards, especially with regards to behaviour and bullying.

-          Work closely with departments to identify which pupils may benefit from additional support.

-          Clear communication skills and ability to work with pupils whose first language is not English.

All applicants will require appropriate qualifications and Right to Work in the UK in order to be considered for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
