Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)

Teaching Personnel is working with a number of welcoming secondary schools across Newport that are looking for ambitious graduates to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You'll become part of the school community, working alongside experienced teachers while developing the practical skills that universities and training providers value most.

This isn't making photocopies or standing on the sidelines—it's a hands-on role where you'll build relationships, support learning, and make a genuine difference to young people's education.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support teachers during lessons across Key Stages 3 & 4
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions
• Help pupils overcome academic and confidence barriers
• Support students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
• Gain first-hand experience of classroom management
• Learn from experienced teaching staff and school leaders

No school experience? That's okay! We welcome graduates with transferable experience from coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, care, volunteering, customer service, or leadership roles.

✅ Requirements

• Degree (or graduating this year)
• Aged 18+
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
• EWC Registration (or willing to register)
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months
• Right to work in the UK
