Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you a recent Graduate looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant role working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a large Secondary School in the Bury area, to aid them in recruiting a dynamic Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant for September 2019.

• Full-time Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant support role available from September 2019
• 12 month full-time position
• Graduates of all specialisms are encouraged to apply
• Working alongside class teachers supporting students aged 11-16
• Possible SEN involved could be ADHD, Autism or learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia
• Any experience with SEN children in an educational setting is desirable
• Providing tuition and small group interventions to pupils ranging in intellectual ability
• Opportunity to cover full classes with the support of class teachers
• Gain experience in a classroom setting
• Earn up to £300 per week depending upon previous experience

As a SEN Teaching Assistant within our client school, responsibilities will include working 1:1 with identified pupils that require additional support due to their specific learning difficulties. Further responsibilities incorporate supporting the class teacher, delivering intervention sessions to suit specific SEN and the possibility of covering pre-planned lessons in the absence of a teacher. With over 700 pupils, the school is in need of extra staff to guarantee these particular students are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom.

To be considered for this role experience working within an educational setting with children and young people who have SEN or behavioural difficulties is desirable. Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification is also greatly acknowledged for success in this role.

Located near Whitefield close to the Bury area, the client school can be accessed via the M66, M60 and A56. For non drivers, there is a number of public transportation links meaning the school can be accessed from surrounding areas such as Bolton and central Manchester.
