Senior Support Worker – Ready to Step Up?
You know how to support young people. Now you’re ready for a role where you can lead, influence and make an even bigger difference.
Teaching Personnel is recruiting an experienced Senior Support Worker to join a specialist residential setting supporting children and young people.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll still be right there supporting young people day to day, but you’ll also have the opportunity to take greater responsibility, lead shifts when required and help ensure consistently high standards of care.
Your role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading shifts in the absence of a Team Leader
- Helping young people make their own decisions and develop greater independence
- Providing person-centred support based around individual care plans
- Supporting personal care in line with each young person’s needs and preferences
- Administering medication in accordance with policy and care plans
- Supporting young people to access their local community and develop social connections
- Contributing to reviews and multi-disciplinary meetings
- Building strong relationships with families, carers and other professionals
- Maintaining accurate records, risk assessments and safeguarding standards
What we're looking for
You’ll need previous experience working with vulnerable children or young people, alongside an understanding of learning disabilities, health and safety and equal opportunities.
Previous experience leading a shift and an NVQ Level 3 are desirable. Just as importantly, you’ll need the confidence to take responsibility while remaining approachable, flexible and focused on the individual young people you’re supporting.
You’ll be working flexibly on a rota, which includes weekends and bank holidays.
If you’re an experienced Support Worker thinking,“I’m ready for more responsibility”, this could be exactly the move you’ve been looking for.
