Teaching Personnel is recruiting a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary and post-16 provision in Blackley from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a skilled and supportive team committed to helping students with additional needs achieve their full potential.
The school supports pupils across Key Stages 3, 4 and Post-16, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Staff work collaboratively to provide a structured, nurturing environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
The Role
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff, you'll help create positive learning experiences tailored to individual needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.
- Encouraging student engagement, participation, and achievement within lessons.
- Supporting communication, emotional development, and independence.
- Helping students manage their emotions through positive behaviour strategies.
- Assisting with personal care when required.
- Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and enrichment activities.
- Adapting support strategies to meet a variety of learning and behavioural needs.
- Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
This is a highly varied role that requires flexibility, patience, and the ability to build strong relationships with young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
