Why Future Teachers? Teaching Personnel has joined forces with schools in Wakefield and beyond to offer a unique program that provides graduates with meaningful, paid experience as they contemplate their initial teacher training journey. Our aim is to equip graduates with valuable skills, offer a stable 12-month employment opportunity, and connect them with potential employers and ITT providers. We're committed to not only increasing the number of graduates entering the teaching profession but also ensuring their successful retention during and after their training year.
What Does Future Teachers Offer? As part of the Future Teachers program, you'll embark on a 12-month position where you'll gain essential skills needed for a teaching career. You'll have access to top-notch development opportunities through partnered training providers and a customized training program delivered by Best Practice Network. During this year, you'll be involved in various responsibilities and play a crucial role in supporting students, especially in the context of recovery programs following the COVID-19 pandemic. Your role may include classroom TA support, 1:1/small group interventions, pupil mentoring, and SEN support. You'll become an integral part of school life and contribute significantly to students' development. Teaching Personnel collaborates with several Initial Teacher Training providers to ensure that all Future Teachers graduates have a direct path to their teaching qualifications. You'll also have the chance to network with both training providers and potential future employers.

What Are We Looking For? While prior school-based experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a genuine passion and interest in education. You should hold an undergraduate degree, and we'll discuss specific subject specialisms upon application to ensure the most suitable placement. Positions are available throughout the year, with the largest intake typically in September.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
