Graduate Sports Coach Required - PRESTON

The Headteacher of a reputable Primary School in Preston is looking to appoint a Sports Coach to work full time in school from September 2019 - ideally at graduate level. The role will be working alongside two other Sports Coaches in school, planning and delivering high quality PE and Sports Provision to children from EYFS-Year 6. This role will also involve supporting the provision of lunch time clubs, after school clubs and off site learning activities.

Hourly rate of £9.50 per hour working a full week Monday to Friday (30 working hours).

The role will commence from the 2nd September 2019 and continue for the full academic year with the potential of a permanent contract from 2020.

This is only one role to be based across one mainstream Primary school in PRESTON. The school is 2 form entry and you will be expected to work with a number of children from Y1-Y6.

Roles and Responsibilities within this role:

  • Provide high quality sports coaching before, during and after school to help raise attainment and fitness as well as extending the children's knowledge of healthy eating and diet.
  • Improve competitive sport provision across school and improve links with local schools.
  • Assist with improvement of staff development within the area of Physical Education and School Sport, leading after school INSET sessions and observing Physical Education sessions on a weekly basis.
  • To contribute to the overall ethos of the school and ensure all the children are happy and safe in school.

This is a good opportunity for any aspiring Primary or Secondary PE Teacher. You will work under the leadership of an SLT member in school and received half termly reviews.

In order to be considered for this role you must have experience in delivering sports and PE sessions as well as holding a relevant Sports Coaching/PE Studies Degree.
