Full-Time | Term Time Only | September Start

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary school in Trafford. The school supports students aged 11–16 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and communication needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop practical skills, build your confidence, and gain experience working alongside experienced educators and SEND professionals.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support students on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
  • Help pupils access learning and achieve their individual goals.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
  • Provide social and emotional support throughout the school day.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to create an engaging learning environment.

Who We're Looking For

  • Graduates from any degree background.
  • Individuals with a genuine interest in SEND, education, or child development.
  • Strong communicators who can build positive relationships.
  • Patient, resilient, and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy helping others.
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
