Teaching Personnel are recruiting passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support specialist provisions across Stockport and Tameside. About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Communication and language needs
  • Physical disabilities
  • Social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate to complex learning difficulties

Your day could include:

✅ Supporting pupils within the classroom alongside the class teacher
✅ Providing tailored 1:1 and small group interventions
✅ Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour support
✅ Helping pupils manage routines, transitions, and daily structure
✅ Using creative, adaptive approaches to make learning accessible
✅ Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

Who We’re Looking For

  • Education and teaching support
  • Care and support work

  • Psychology or education graduates

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

✔ Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience is highly desirable)
✔ A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
✔ Confidence supporting behaviour, communication, and sensory needs
✔ A proactive and resilient attitude
✔ Full-time availability (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm)
✔ An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
