Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced Secondary SEN School in Stockport to recruit a Specialist SEN Support Assistant for a full-time role starting in September 2026.

The Role
As a Specialist SEN Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
- Help students access learning by adapting activities to meet individual needs.
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence and engagement.
- Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised support plans.
- Promote a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work or support settings.
- Is patient, resilient and genuinely passionate about supporting young people.
- Can remain calm in challenging situations and build strong professional relationships.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Experience supporting any of the following would be highly beneficial:
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Moderate or Severe Learning Difficulties
- SEMH needs
- Challenging behaviour
- Personal care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
