For our partner school, we are seeking to recruit an aspiring teacher of Maths with good subject knowledge who is prepared to work as an unqualified teacher whilst working towards gaining their teaching qualification at the same time.

As a trainee teacher at this school, you will join an employment based route, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You will work alongside a highly qualified Maths department to provide a range of specialist Maths teaching, intervention and learning support. The school also boasts a very well structured NQT programme which can be offered once the successful candidate qualifies. You will continue to mentored and supported to facilitate good progress in your teaching career.

The school currently offers Maths at KS3 and KS4. It is desirable that applicants have good knowledge Maths up to GCSE with a willingness to teach Statistics in the future. As well as having strong subject knowledge, you should also have excellent interpersonal skills and be a strong communicator. Prior experience of working with young people is essential.

All applicants must:

  • A UK or equivalent degree, preferably in Maths  
  • GCSE in Maths and English, minimum grade C
  • Have right to work in the UK
  • Have experience working with young people in an education based or similar environment
  • Have a good philosophy of Education and genuine desire to train to teach
  • Be inspiring, determined and committed to achieve QTS
  • Be reflective and passionate about their professional development
  • Have a good sense of humour and be able to build excellent rapport with students and colleagues alike
  • Demonstrate sound subject knowledge of the Maths curriculums at KS3 and KS4

All staff will be expected to hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS disclosure and full safeguarding checks as well as satisfactory references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
