Our client secondary school is looking for a Graduate Mentor/TA to join them in December 2018. The successful Graduate Mentor will be supporting across a range of subjects working with students in small groups and in full classroom settings. The role will involve supporting students who have been identified as requiring specific support as they are behind their peers by way of attainment and progress being made.
The successful Graduate can be a graduate in any subject or degree specialism but should have a keen interest in the education sector. For any graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in teaching, this role would be ideal as you will gain valuable experience supporting in a secondary school environment. This graduate mentor role is for the remainder of the academic year for the most suitable candidate.
Highlights of this Graduate Mentor/TA role:
- Support across a range of subjects; working with students identified as lower ability
- Support on an academic level as well as building confidence with students supporting them with social interactions
- Any experience supporting secondary aged students is beneficial especially providing support to lower ability pupils
- Pay range between £275 - £400 per week depending upon experience
The school, situated in the South Manchester area on the edge of Stockport is very easily accessible from the M60 motorway network. The school is split across 2 sites with a large SEN department knows as the Inclusion and Diversity area. Working under the highly supportive SEN co-ordinator and higher learning teaching assistants, you will gain not only a lot of support but a link to a great networking opportunity.
The role itself will be multi-faceted involving supporting students in a classroom environment as well as working with them on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. There will opportunity to create resources to engage students of all abilities as well as run lunch time clubs depending on the graduate's own personal background and interest.
