Graduate Intervention Tutor

Are you a graduate seeking experience in a secondary school ahead of completing a PGCE?

A Head Teacher at a school in Blackburn is seeking Graduates in English Maths and Science to work within their corresponding departments to raise attainment through targeted group intervention sessions.

The school is highly successful and well respected within the local community. Although results within the core subjects have been good, it has been noted that a small number of pupils require additional support to raise their achievement to the next level. The intervention groups will be across a mix of year groups including GCSE (Year 9-11) and Year 7 catch up intervention.

This role is linked with Teaching Personnel's Future Teachers programme and has direct progression onto the schools associated SCITT programme. Although the main role in school will be intervention, at times of high need there will also be cover requirements. Candidates considering this role should have excellent subject knowledge and should feel confident dealing with challenging pupils. Support will be provided for all successful candidates as part of the schools induction for new staff and training programme.
