Programme: Future Teachers Graduate Scheme
Location: South Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time (fixed 12-month contract)
Salary: £89–£95 per day

The Programme:
Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers programme offers graduates the chance to gain practical, paid school experience before starting a formal teacher training course such as a PGCE or SCITT. This is a fully supported, structured year-long placement within a high-performing secondary school in South Manchester.

School Environment:
You will be placed in a forward-thinking, inclusive 11–16 secondary school with strong values, a commitment to raising aspirations, and a dedicated professional development programme. Staff are supportive, and you’ll be paired with an experienced teacher mentor to guide your progress.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students in lessons across core subjects like English, maths and science

  • Working 1:1 or with small groups to close learning gaps and build confidence

  • Assisting with classroom management, resources and lesson preparation

  • Shadowing teachers, attending department meetings and CPD sessions

  • Developing a strong understanding of safeguarding, SEN, and curriculum expectations

Ideal Candidate:

  • Recent graduate (or final-year student) with a 2:2 or above in any discipline

  • Strong interest in a future teaching career – all subjects welcomed, especially STEM and English

  • Confident working with teenagers and able to engage positively with pupils

  • Resilient, proactive, and ready to take on new challenges

  • Keen to commit to a full academic year in a South Manchester secondary school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
