Graduate cover supervisor - Looking to start your teacher training next year?
Are you a graduate looking to begin a teacher training course in the future? Are you looking to gain further experience working within a secondary school prior to beginning your UCAS application/PGCE application?
Our client secondary schools located in the Bolton areas are looking for confident graduates to join their support team from February to work as a cover supervisor on a long term basis (Part time and full time posts available). This is invaluable paid experience which is the ideal opportunity for those considering a teacher training programme in the future.
As a cover supervisor you will have the opportunity to cover a range of subjects and develop your confidence and experience leading classes. The school wish to appoint graduates who can competently deliver pre-prepared lessons to pupils and ensure pupils stay on task.
The successful applicants for these cover supervisor roles will be motivated and flexible to work across departments and have a real passion for working with young adults at secondary school age.
Key highlights of the Cover Supervisor role:

- Gain the ideal experience to set you up ready for a future in teaching and to support a PGCE application
- Network within a secondary school that is a key part of the local community and has links with other local secondary schools and feeder primary schools
The role of a cover supervisor is to deliver already set work to students within a classroom setting. The successful cover supervisor won't be expected to plan and mark within this role but will work across departments as the school require. There is also the possible opportunity to tutor students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, further gaining invaluable experience of educating students within the school environment.
This school is an 11-16, mixed community comprehensive school situated on the border of Bolton and Wigan within Bolton Council's boundaries. It is easily accessible as it is only a short drive from the M61 and has direct transport links to the surrounding areas; Bury, Wigan, Chorley, Salford and Wigan.
This is a fantastic opportunity for any graduates who hope to become an aspirational teacher of the future. The successful candidate should be available to start ASAP to attend a meeting with the school where they can assess your suitability.
Please apply now with your latest CV for immediate consideration to Matt via the link below or contact the Manchester Secondary Branch. Applicants will be required to apply for a criminal clearance check (DBS) which you can do through Teaching Personnel.
