Geography teaching vacancy in East Lancashire

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a school in Nelson to recruit a Geography Teacher to join their successful Humanities department. The school requires a Teacher full-time to deliver Geography up to GCSE level. The position has become available due to the resignation of one of the schools Geography Teachers. The school are ideally looking for someone who is able to start ASAP, however, an Easter start could be accommodated for a suitable candidate. The role will run on a temporary basis till the end of the academic year. Should a candidate get on well in school the Head Teacher is likely to make a permanent position available.

The school is a smaller than average school with approximately 650 pupils on roll. The school has seen considerable improvements in the results and the school has been commended for the improved behaviour policies. The school has a highly inclusive attitude towards new staff at the school and would always look to put support in place to ensure that the member of staff settles well into the school.

NQT's and experienced Geography Teachers would be considered for the role. The school is looking for a candidate with a good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Geography curriculum who would be confident planning and teaching lessons to a variety of pupil abilities and backgrounds.
