My client is a coeducational Foundation Special School, situated on two separate sites in West and North Kent. Pupils at the school will have significant communication and interaction (C&I) difficulties such as a diagnosis of autism, aspergers, pervasive developmental disorder, and/or severe specific receptive or expressive language impairment/disorder from ages 11 – 19.

The school are currently looking for an experienced Geography Teacher, ideally with SEN experience although this is not essential. Applications are welcome from Teachers looking to make the transition from mainstream to SEN.

Candidates will:

• Hold a Teaching Qualification

• Work within the Code of Practice relating to Special Educational Needs.

• Facilitate outstanding learning, progress and attainment in Geography.

• Maximise opportunities for students to identify their own learning needs and to set and evaluate their own ongoing targets for improvement, to develop high quality independent learners.

• Ensure the marking of students’ work provides them with sufficient guidance on how to improve their work.

• Promote and develop a Geography curriculum which challenges learners of all abilities to achieve high standards.
