Geography Teacher

A school in Tameside is looking for a Geography teacher to join the teaching staff on a temporary basis. This position is a teaching role, and so the required candidate will hold QTS. A degree within the field of Geography or a related subject is highly desirable. It is essential that the required applicant will hold strong subject knowledge.

Additionally:

• Delivering Geography lessons, including preparing students for GCSE exams.
• Prepare educational resources/material that are engaging, as well as set homework tasks that are relevant.
• Work with pupils on both an individual and group basis.
• Cater for the needs of pupils who have SEN, as well as those requiring support due to English not being their primary language.
• Make use of multimedia resources to support student learning.
• Placing high expectations on students, always demanding that they apply themselves to the best of their ability.
• Providing regular feedback to the Head of Department when necessary.

It is expected that the required individual will be able to manage behaviour to the expected standard, maintain the school’s policy at all times.

The role advertised will begin after the Christmas break, and will run through until the end of the academic year. There may be some potential for this position to be extended into the new academic year in September.

The school is located in Tameside, which is slightly outside of Manchester city centre. Applications are welcomed from those living in the areas of Denton, Hyde, Ashton Under Lyne. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
