Are you a Geography Teacher?

Looking for a fresh start in your teaching career?

Teaching Personnel are working with a school in Waterlooville with an excellent reputation who are looking to appoint a Geography teacher on a temporary or permanent contract from September 2020. This role would be a full time role teaching Geography to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Additional experience teaching humanities would also be desirable for this role. 

We welcome applicants who:

  • Have gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 
  • Can confidently plan and delegate a daily routine for support staff within the classroom;
  • Are either Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT's) or experienced classroom practitioners;
  • Seek a long term position teaching a full timetable with the relevant time set aside for Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA).

The Academy are able to offer a broad curriculum, from the icy extremes of the Icelandic glaciers to the tropical heat of The Amazon, the school encourage students to become explorers of their own world. With the subject now a high priority in the everyday news, the school are looking for practitioners confident on encouraging educational debates and bringing Science into the curriculum to ensure pupils are kept informed and motivated on up to date affairs happening in the world within the subject of Geography. The syllabus integrates science and human interaction and helps pupils develop vital skills along the way such as writing, map reading, problem solving and making tough decisions. Tripos enhance learning with local and further afield experiences to enhance outdoor learning experiences and widen the world around them.
