General Teaching Assistant - Lancashire School

Competitive rates of pay - Min. £285 a week

Working hours- 0900-1530 with 30 minutes unpaid lunch

The school- Recently graded GOOD by Ofsted in 2018

The Governors of a small primary school located in Blackburn, Lancashire are seeking to recruit a Level 2 Teaching Assistant with enthusiasm and willingness to work with a range of children on a one to one basis and also in small intervention based groups.

What the role will involve?

Supporting and delivering the Curriculum, tailored towards the children's expected age related levels

Reinforcing the behaviour policy and the high standards set in the classroom

Working with children in and out of the class room ensuring they are given the best opportunity to hit personal targets

Encouragement of the children's confidence in speaking and listening activities and also in their written work

What sort of candidates are we looking for?

Someone who is experienced in the Primary year groups; and someone who is willing to undergo additional training in order to upskill and improve the quality of teaching and learning

A confident practitioner who isn't afraid to think outside the box when it comes to differentiating for individual needs

A member of staff who is extremely approachable and friendly

A teaching assistant who is a solid team player and someone who wants to be actively involved in out of school activities as well

A good communicator, who has the ability to build relationships with children and adults and be sensitive to their needs.

A proficient ICT user

The school in question can not be named but it must be noted that due to the popularity of its current Head teacher and recent Ofsted grading, the school is over subscribed. The school has great facilities which the children enjoy working in and thrive in terms of their social and academic development. The Head teacher has also mentioned that the staff work quickly in school and pace is important during the working day to avoid children becoming bored.

This is a Level 2 Teaching Assistant role- The year group is not yet concrete as there are a couple of staff members requiring cover.
