Job description

Job Title: GCSE Tutor

Location:

South East England, Berkshire, Reading

Job Type:

Permanent, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons to GCSE students in a specific subject area
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Develop individualised learning plans for students based on their strengths and weaknesses
  • Prepare students for GCSE exams through targeted exam practise and revision sessions
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in the subject area being taught
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience working with GCSE students

Education:

Degree in the subject area being taught

Experience:

Prior experience working with GCSE students

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students
  • Organisational skills to plan lessons effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent)
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE exams

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a classroom or tutoring centre setting
  • Full-time hours, typically during school hours and may involve some evenings or weekends for exam preparation
  • Interaction with students, parents, and colleagues

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
