Functional Skills Tutor

About us

Teaching Personnel are the leading education provider across the UK, specialising in intervention and education for SEN pupils. We work with a broad range of Local Authority clients including Virtual Schools and EHCP teams across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. To support these clients with educating vulnerable pupils, we are looking for experienced Tutors of Functional Skills We are also looking for tutors to support vulnerable LAC pupils and those with EHCP's at risk of exclusion or without a school place in the build up to the end of their academic life.

Your new role

You will be delivering Functional Skills subjects (predominantly Maths and English Entry Level - Level 2) to students in KS4 who may present with Autism, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties) or anxiety. You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons as well as provide feedback on pupil progression to Local Authority staff, parents, carers and Teaching Personnel staff.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience teaching Functional Skills to students within the last 2 years
  • A valid, enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Availability with immediate start and through until the end of the academic year
  • Experience working with SEN students and preferably those who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
