A school in Ribchester are seeking a Functional Skills Teacher from September.
The school offers a fully integrated approach to the Education, Care and Clinical support for young people aged 8 to 18 years, who attend on a full time, residential basis from across the country, with a range of Autistic Spectrum and associated complex needs.
Set in over 20 acres of beautiful countryside with the potential for forest dens and classrooms, gardens, stables, tracks and trails, you will have the chance to build an amazing landscape for nurturing and developing the creativity and imagination of the children and young people.
The pupils are fully supported with a tailored programme for their Care and Education and the school delivers rich and innovative experiences, playing to each child’s strengths, to prepare them for their lives ahead. Close community ties underpin these opportunities in and around the Roman town of Ribchester and the city of Preston, with easy access to a host of engaging activities to encourage inclusion and positive outcomes for all your students.
We are looking to recruit a committed, empathetic and engaging Teacher that will work within the care, education and therapy teams to work together to empower the young people to make positive changes in their lives, gain self-regulation skills and develop greater lifelong independence.
We are looking for a Teacher who has drive and vision and who is passionate about the teaching profession and committed to a high quality service. If you have an interest in working with special needs students, this is an ideal place to use your skills in this highly rewarding and challenging field of education. All teaching takes place in small classes with Teaching Assistant support.
Working as part of a committed team, the school need someone who can cater for the diverse needs of all students, therefore you need to be:

• Able to interact with people in a variety of ways;
• Looking to develop expertise in special needs and Autism.

• A contributor to the schools multi - disciplinary team approach
• Managing complex behaviours
The main responsibilities are following schemes of work, creating medium term plans, lesson planning, delivering the curriculum to a class group and supporting students with ASC in learning activities and personal skills. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a skilled multi-disciplinary team, aiming to expand the horizons and improve the skills of young people. The school delivers expert care and Education whilst incorporating opportunities for staff and students to experience the fun side of life. The role is challenging but also extremely rewarding.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
