Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant

The Headteacher and governing body of a reputable one form entry Primary School in Chorley are on the look out to source a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to support small groups of pupils in Y6 providing interventions and general class support working collaborative alongside the class teacher. The working hours for this role are 8:45-15:30 equating to 27.5 working hours per week paid on a weekly basis with unpaid lunch break.

The Headteacher has expressed that the ideal candidate will have experience supporting children across KS2. The school are not necessarily looking for a Y6 specialist - however they are looking for a practitioner who has experience working alongside children with SEMH and varying needs specifically in the Juniors. In order to be considered The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant with positive attitude and good sense of humour who can adapt quickly to suit the needs of each child - the Headteacher has expressed that no two days are the same at this school, therefore this is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking for a new and exciting opportunity!

This role has cropped up due to a resent resignation; therefore there is the potential to transition onto a contract depending on a successful probationary period.

  • Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant or higher
  • Recent experience supporting pupils across KS2 and providing interventions.
  • Excellent behaviour management.
  • Can develop positive, professional relationships and is able to fit in well with other staff members.
  • Shares a passion for making a difference to the life of children.
