1:1 Learning Support Assistant for Pupil with Additional Learning Needs at a Primary School in Southampton

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to provide individualized support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping the pupil overcome their specific challenges and achieve their full potential academically and socially. Previous experience is desired but it is not essential; we will welcome all applicants!
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Individualized Support:**
Provide one-on-one support to the pupil, tailoring assistance to their unique needs and learning style. 2.
**Academic Assistance:**
Assist the pupil in completing class assignments, projects, and homework, ensuring understanding and mastery of the material. 3.
**Social and Emotional Support:**
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, helping the pupil develop social skills and emotional regulation. 4.
**Behavioral Management:**
Implement strategies and interventions to address behavioral challenges and ensure a productive learning atmosphere. 5.
**Communication:**
Maintain open and regular communication with the pupil's parents, teachers, and other support staff to share progress and insights.
Prior experience working with individuals with SEN, particularly one-on-one support. -
Knowledge of various SEN conditions and strategies for supporting them.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the pupil's evolving needs.
- Understanding of confidentiality and adherence to professional ethics.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
