Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Complex Needs) – Southampton

A modern, purpose-built primary school in Southampton is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role provides an opportunity to support students with complex needs within a specialist educational environment designed to cater to their learning and developmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing targeted support to students with complex learning needs, ensuring they have access to a high-quality education.

• Assisting in the implementation of personalised learning plans, working closely with teachers and support staff.

• Supporting students in both academic progress and social development.

• Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in an educational setting is highly desirable.

• Experience supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is particularly advantageous.

• Applicants from care or support backgrounds with transferable skills are encouraged to apply.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

• A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to supporting young people.

Employment Details:

• Full-time position.

• Employed through Teaching Personnel. Opportunity for a permanent position OR remain on contract through agency

• Hourly pay: £13.75

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
