Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (Complex Needs) – Southampton
A modern, purpose-built primary school in Southampton is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role provides an opportunity to support students with complex needs within a specialist educational environment designed to cater to their learning and developmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing targeted support to students with complex learning needs, ensuring they have access to a high-quality education.

Assisting in the implementation of personalised learning plans, working closely with teachers and support staff.

Supporting students in both academic progress and social development.

Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
Candidate Requirements:
-
Previous experience in an educational setting is highly desirable.
-
Experience supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is particularly advantageous.

Applicants from care or support backgrounds with transferable skills are encouraged to apply.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
Employment Details:

Employed through Teaching Personnel. Opportunity for a permanent position OR remain on contract through agency

Hourly pay: £13.75

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
