Job description

Forest School Teacher (Part-Time – 5 Mornings per Week)
Location: Kinson, Bournemouth
Start Date: After the Easter Half Term

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Forest School Teacher to lead and deliver an engaging outdoor learning programme at one of our welcoming mainstream schools in Kinson, Bournemouth.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about child-led learning, outdoor education, and nurturing confidence, resilience, and curiosity in young learners.

The Role
You will be responsible for planning, leading, and delivering high-quality Forest School sessions across five mornings each week. Working with primary-aged children, you will create a safe, inspiring, and inclusive outdoor environment that supports holistic development through hands-on experiences in nature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Forest School sessions in line with Forest School principles
  • Foster a safe and supportive outdoor learning environment
  • Encourage exploration, creativity, and independence in children
  • Carry out risk assessments and ensure health & safety procedures are followed
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and the wider school community
  • Maintain and manage outdoor equipment and resources

About You

  • Level 3 Forest School qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Confident in outdoor risk management and site organisation
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
