Flexible Cover Supervisor – North Manchester

Are you looking for flexible work across North Manchester? Would you like to do some unqualified teaching work in secondary schools?

Teaching Personnel are the market leader of education recruitment within the UK, and currently support a number of secondary schools across North Manchester with covering absent teachers for both pre-planned and unplanned absences. We currently have a number of exciting opportunities for prospective applicants to join our team of Cover Supervisors who are looking to do some unqualified teaching work within secondary schools across North Manchester including Oldham, Rochdale, Prestwich and Blackley.

  • Flexible Cover Supervisor work available with immediate starts
  • Be in charge of own working schedule (update availability using an online diary)
  • Full time or part time opportunities to suit individual needs
  • Applications encouraged from graduates
  • Earn up to GBP350 per week (dependent on experience and qualifications)

As a Cover Supervisor, successful candidates will support schools through covering absent teachers as an unqualified teacher. This role is an ideal way of future teachers (recent graduates) of obtaining valuable classroom experience before starting a teacher training programme.

The roles and responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor will include:

  • Providing classroom management of students in the absence of a teaching member of staff. 
  • To liaise with appropriate Heads of Department on work to be set for classes and on any behavioural matters.
  • To help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe and secure learning environment in line with the teachers’ lesson plans.
  • Manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are completing work to ensure a constructive environment.
  • Deal with any immediate problems according to the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Collect completed work after the lesson and pass to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Report, as appropriate using the school’s agreed referral procedures, on the behaviour of pupils during the class and on any problems arising.
  • Registering attendance in accordance with school policy.
