Cover Supervisor – Cardiff

  • Ideal for candidates with 2 – 5 days/week availability.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our highly successful team of cover staff in supporting Cardiff’s secondary schools. This role would be ideal for a highly organised, flexible, and resilient person who can adapt quickly and support learners of all ages. The successful applicant will need to be able to adapt to, and deliver, the lesson plans of the main class teacher and do their best to ensure learners of all abilities make progress in a range of subjects.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cover lessons in the absence of the timetabled teacher.
  • Supervise the delivery of the cover work by effectively communicating the work set to students.
  • Collect completed work after the lesson and return it to the appropriate teacher.
  • Manage the behaviour of pupils and ensure a positive learning environment for all.
  • Respond to any questions from pupils to the best of your ability (no specific subject knowledge is required).

Requirements:

  • Degree level (or equivalent) education
  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Check, with update service
  • EWC Registration
  • Access to own vehicle and UK Driving License (preferable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
