EYFS Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a number of Primary schools located in Barnsley that require the support of an Early Years Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for nurturing and driven individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils early year's development.

You will work under the instruction/guidance of the teacher and other senior staff members, to ensure the care and support of EYFS pupils. You will act as a role model and mentor to children who are new to a school environment to provide a high standard of care and education.

You will:

  • Be an enthusiastic and committed support assistant
  • Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with early years pupils
  • Relevant experience in an EYFS setting or the relevant L2 TA qualification
  • Shown initiative, be willing to work as part of a team and be confident to get involved in all areas of the school
  • Observe, assess and plan to support the individual needs of children to show and involve parents/carers how much they are growing and thriving
  • Support effective transition activities so that EYFS pupils are ready to take their next step in their school journey
  • Be available for full-time cover purposes
