EYFS Class Teacher – Primary School – Waltham Forest
Location: Waltham Forest, North East London
Position: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teacher
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS (Inner London) – £36,745 to £47,666 (ECTs welcome to apply)
A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Waltham Forest is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and nurturing EYFS Class Teacher to join their team from September. The school is Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ and has a strong reputation for its inclusive approach, creative curriculum, and commitment to early childhood development.
You will join a supportive team of practitioners in the school’s Nursery or Reception provision (depending on experience and preference) and will play a key role in promoting a love of learning through purposeful play, routine, and early literacy and numeracy foundations.
Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Early Years Framework
-
Creating a safe, stimulating, and language-rich environment for young learners
-
Conducting accurate observations and assessments to support each child’s development
-
Working closely with teaching assistants, SEN staff, and parents/carers to support individual needs

Contributing to a positive, collaborative staff culture and continuous school improvement
The successful candidate will:
-
Hold QTS and have experience in EYFS or be an ECT with a strong Early Years placement
-
Demonstrate a secure understanding of child development and early learning goals
-
Be a reflective practitioner with a passion for child-led learning
-
Show strong communication and organisational skills
-
Be committed to the wider values of inclusion, wellbeing and partnership with families
The school offers a comprehensive induction for ECTs and tailored CPD for experienced practitioners. Staff wellbeing is a priority, and the leadership team is known for its accessibility and support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
