Job description

Job Title: ESOL Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Basildon

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) lessons to students.
  • Assess students' language skills and develop individual learning plans.
  • Provide feedback and support to students to help them improve their English language proficiency.
  • Create engaging and interactive lesson materials to enhance learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.

Required Qualifications:

  • TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification.
  • Experience in teaching ESOL to diverse groups of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching ESOL.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of language acquisition principles.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
  • Experience using technology in language teaching.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in learners home or online teaching environment.
  • May require flexible working hours to accommodate students' schedules.
  • Potential travel to different teaching locations within the region.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
