Job description

TP Tutors are working closely with a popular Secondary school in the Darlington area to recruit an English tutor to provide tuition support for their vulnerable students. The role will begin in September 2024, part-time with the potential of increasing to full-time work for the right educator.

 

Preferred Tutor Requirements:

  • Professional Teaching Qualification (Qualified Teacher status QTS in English).
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce only DBS, or willingness to purchase one via TP Tutors.
  • Experience of working with children with SEND, SEMH or other additional needs.
  • Up to date knowledge of the current English national curriculum and exam boards.
  • Excellent behaviour management, with an understanding of children’s individual needs.
  • Ability to use own initiative, plan individual sessions and work collaboratively with the school.

This role involves:

  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who are working below target, at risk of being expelled and looked after children.
  • Planning and delivering engaging English sessions, as well as providing feedback on our unique learning platform.
  • Liaise regularly with teachers, heads of departments and SLT.
  • Following provided tuition timetable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
